Gobbler Contest

BBSC will host an annual big gobbler contest for members that starts each fall and ends the following spring.  The archer that is fortunate enough to take the Top Scoring Gobbler in one of the 12 categories will win his or her choice of merchandise or free bowhunt for turkey's. 

There will be a Typical and Non-Typical division for each category.  Non-Typical includes birds with multi-beards or spurs.  The categories are as follows:

      1.  Merriam

      2.  Rio Grande

      3.  Eastern

      4.  Osceola

      5.  Hybrid

      6.  Goulds - (Top scoring gobbler per 50 entries eligible for hunt)

      7.  Oscellated - (Top scoring gobbler per 50 entries eligible for hunt)

In addition, the member with the most entries for the year will also win his or her choice of merchandise or a free bowhunt for turkey's.

We will accept entries starting in the Fall , and the deadline is June, 15.      

Bowhunter of the Year Award

Bowhunters , Beards, and Spurs Club will award one member each year with the BOWHUNTER OF THE YEAR AWARD.  This is our most prestigious award, because it is based on consistent performance in the field.  The 10 members with the most entries, whether it is by video’s submitted into the video contest or gobbler’s registered in our record books.  The quality or scores of the entries will be considered in the selection process.
