Adding extra Incentive to Arrowing Gobbler’s... Bowhunter’s, Beards, and Spurs Club (BBSC), created by Steve Grace, one of the nations most successful turkey bowhunter’s, offers a variety of services to meet the needs of hunters that take to the field with a Bow and Arrow after this majestic bird.
One of the top benefits of being a BBSC member is learning of all the “hotspots” to bowhunt turkeys. “I’ve traveled all over the country and spent a lot of money in search of the best opportunities for bowhunting turkeys. I’ve come home disappointed and empty-handed from both pay and public land hunts, but I’ve found many great spots in the process. Now I want to share them with our members, “says Grace.
BBSC will keep records using a system that hunter’s can relate to, because scores are similar to whitetail deer in the same class. BBSC will host two contests. A gobbler contest for each of the subspecies plus hybrids, in both typical, and non-typical categories. Winners will be rewarded with free hunts, mounts, or merchandise. BBSC will also host a video contest with the winner having the chance to become part of a DVD series. This years contest started in the fall of 2007 and will end in June 2008.
“I started BBSC because there was really nothing special out there for hunters who were successful at taking turkey’s with a bow. The local contests were dominated by gun hunters and the Pope & Young Club doesn’t accept turkeys,” states Grace.
There will also be a “Bowhunter of the Year” award. The 10 hunters with the most entries in our record books or video files will qualify for this award. This winner will be asked to join our pro-staff. We are looking to assemble a one of a kind pro-staff that actually performs in the field and is successful.
“There seems to be a growing interest in bowhunting turkey from 2 different segments. The serious bowhunter’s who are looking to expand their hunting opportunities and expert turkey hunter’s looking to magnify the excitement and challenge of taking a gobbler. We feel we can help both of these groups have more success in the field,” says Steve.
The bottom line is BBSC wants you to be equipped, informed, knowledgeable, and motivated to have the best and most successful bowhunting experience. Finally, hunters will be rewarded for hunting the wild turkey with a bow and arrow.

As fellow Bowhunter's our goal at Bowhunter's Beards & Spurs Club (BBSC) is to serve those who pursue the challenge of hunting wild turkey with archery gear. We will accomplish this in a number of ways.
